CAMMELL LAIRD GEAR UP FOR THE CUP.

Cammell Laird look forward to their first season in the top flight of the Moore & Co (Construction Solicitors) League - (The old North West Counties League) with an opening friendly against Tranmere Rovers, at Lairds, on Tuesday 12th July, with a 7pm kick off.

A strong Rovers side is certain to be on show as Rovers have no other game scheduled for that night.

The great FA Cup run Lairds enjoyed last season looks to have brought some luck with the possibility of their first three games in the greatest Cup Competition in the World being played at home!

Sat 20th August sees top opposition from the North East with newly promoted and strongly fancied Arngrove Northern League Division One side West Allotment Celtic [Newcastle] making the long trip south for the Cup's Extra Preliminary Round.

If successful, Lairds opponents in the Preliminary Round, the following Saturday, 27th August, could be another Arngrove Northern League side, Alnwick Town, [Second Division]. Another long trip south for our possible Opponents as Alnwick is a few miles north of Newcastle! > [Sat 10th September]

Should we get the right result, the Cup's First Qualifying Round will again be at home against Unibond Premier's Ratcliffe Borough from Greater Mancheste > Sat 10th September.

The First Round Qualifying Round Draw [Sat 17th September] in the FA Vase has not been so kind - away to North Shields - another "Geordie" team from the Northern League but the reward for the winner is a home tie against Moore & Co (Construction Solicitors) League side Atherton LR in theSecond Round Qualifying Round. [Saturday 1st October]

More top flight friendlies have been arranged against top class non-league opposition - details here soon!.
